Mt Tabor Park Centennial Celebration: July 25-August 1 & 2

The "official" Paint Out event begins Friday, July 31 and ends Sunday August 2...but Artists will be painting in and around Mt Tabor during the week before the celebration and during the celebration itself. Freshly created work will be displayed in tents alongside the art exhibit (the plein air art display will be open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
Pastel artist Brenda Boylan, encaustic artist Kimberly Kent, painter June Underwood, and others will offer public demonstrations during the celebration.
The paint out is sponsored by Hawthorne's Muse Art + Design

A message from Shawn Demarest:
Greetings!
Planning for the event is moving along - and I'm thrilled to have Muse Art+Design as our sponsor. They will be providing tents and more. I've attached an updated entry form/flier. Please share this with friends and art groups. Also, to add some excitement and to tie in with the August 1,2 celebration we will be offering refreshments and prizes (probably raffle - maybe goodie-bags) to artists painting in the park on the 1st and/or 2nd.
Additionally, I have one painter and one encaustic artist (Thats right! Melting wax over an outdoor stove!) to do demonstrations. We're hoping to find at least two more willing artists to publicly demonstrate what they do. And, I need to find them quickly to give them the most publicity possible! Please share this with any friends/artists you think may be interested. Demonstrations would happen on August 1st and/or 2nd.

Portland, OR, MT. TABOR Park Centennial Paint Out and Exhibit (July)
Greetings Friends, Artists, and other Notables!
As part of this summer's Mt Tabor Centennial Celebration, I'm inviting you to a Paint Out. Simply put, we'll be celebrating art-making, community, and Mt Tabor by painting/creating within (or close to) Mt Tabor Park. This event also includes (staffed/secure) display and sales tents for the fresh/wet art that is created.
The form below outlines the basics of the Mt Tabor Centennial Celebration Paint Out with application information. To keep things simple, you can reply via e-mail with basic information (name, phone, e-mail) if you would like to participate. A small fee of $15 to cover tent, security, and other expenses can be paid during the event. I've decided to extend the official Paint Out time from the Saturday before the event (July 25) through Sunday (August 2). This way, when the tent goes up Saturday morning, we'll have art for it - and if you like to spend more time on your paintings/art - you've got it!

Please note that this is an unjuried event - any any media or approach/style is welcome.
The Centennial Celebration is shaping up to be a large, fun happening. Expect music, booths, a parade, classic car show, and more. Visit www.mttabor100.org for additional information. Also, there is a juried art exhibit that will be housed in a tent adjacent to ours. You can find information about this event on the website as well.
As part of the Paint Out, I'm looking for a handful of artists to demonstrate their art-making as part of a public plein air demonstration. Please let me know if this interests you.
Freely share this information with other artists - the more the merrier!
