Two-day Plein Air Workshops

Fri-Sat, Aug. 20-21, McMinnville

Practice seeing, selecting, sketching and painting your impressions of rolling hills, majestic evergreens (and maybe even an elk herd), on this 160-acre ranch.
9 am-4 pm. Limit 10. All levels. $195.

Fri-Sat, Sept. 17-18, Oregon Coast

Paint studies of wave patterns and rock formations, and learn to capture sea and sky color notes at some of Oregon’s most scenic coastline at Cape Mears and Three Arches.
10 am-5 pm Fri., 9 am-4 pm Sat.
Limit 10. All levels. $195.

Two-Day Studio Workshop

Sat-Sun, Oct. 23-24, Beaverton

Create a larger studio painting from this summer’s plein air studies. Develop new, personally meaningful compositions from small paintings and photos while exploring how color, contrast, edge and texture define space and volume

2010 Plein Air Painting Workshops with Mitch Baird

Join award winning artist Mitch Baird for a local plein air painting
experience capturing the landscape. The workshops will be 2-day
intensives for all skill levels and limited to 12 students to ensure
individual attention. The Colorado workshop will be a 5-day intensive
regarding the process of plein air to studio work. The location settings

About Eric's workshops

The workshops are intensive plein air workshops complete with informal lectures, chat sessions, demonstrations and critiques. These classes are open to all serious painters from beginners on up.
The class structure will be informal with an emphasis on enjoying the painting process while working on the basic fundamentals of good landscape painting. Focus will be on organizing and simplifying your subject and on making key decisions that will enable you to successfully paint the landscape.
