Portland, OR, MT. TABOR Park Centennial Paint Out and Exhibit (July)
Greetings Friends, Artists, and other Notables!
As part of this summer's Mt Tabor Centennial Celebration, I'm inviting you to a Paint Out. Simply put, we'll be celebrating art-making, community, and Mt Tabor by painting/creating within (or close to) Mt Tabor Park. This event also includes (staffed/secure) display and sales tents for the fresh/wet art that is created.
The form below outlines the basics of the Mt Tabor Centennial Celebration Paint Out with application information. To keep things simple, you can reply via e-mail with basic information (name, phone, e-mail) if you would like to participate. A small fee of $15 to cover tent, security, and other expenses can be paid during the event. I've decided to extend the official Paint Out time from the Saturday before the event (July 25) through Sunday (August 2). This way, when the tent goes up Saturday morning, we'll have art for it - and if you like to spend more time on your paintings/art - you've got it!
Reply by July 1st to participate: mttaborpaintout(at)gmail(dot)com
Please note that this is an unjuried event - any any media or approach/style is welcome.
The Centennial Celebration is shaping up to be a large, fun happening. Expect music, booths, a parade, classic car show, and more. Visit www.mttabor100.org for additional information. Also, there is a juried art exhibit that will be housed in a tent adjacent to ours. You can find information about this event on the website as well.
As part of the Paint Out, I'm looking for a handful of artists to demonstrate their art-making as part of a public plein air demonstration. Please let me know if this interests you.
Freely share this information with other artists - the more the merrier!

Hood River, OR: Plans for THURSDAY, April 30, Catherine Creek
(A message from Bonnie White:)
Last Tuesday was a beautiful day to paint, full of blooms and sunshine. These photos are from our painting session at Good News Gardening.
We agreed to paint at Catherine Creek on Thursday April 30, at 9:00 a.m. Catherine Creek is on Old Hwy 8, off of SR 141. From Hood River Bridge, head toward Lyle. It is approx. 5 miles. Go past Courtney Road on your left and right before Rowland Lake turn left on Old Hwy 8. Go around the lake, up the hill, past the vineyard to your right, and right when it levels off you will see parking to the left.
From Lyle turn right on Old Hwy 8, which is the first turn after you go over the Klickitat River. Stay on Highway 8 for about 4-5 miles. Again, you'll see the parking on the right. You'll also see a porta potty on the Columbia River side, which ever direction you come in from.
I haven't checked the weather, I hope it is as good as today. Hope to see you Tuesday. Bonnie

Hood River, OR: A message from Bonnie White
It looks like spring is here. I plan on painting at Good News Gardening beginning at 9:00 a.m. this Tuesday, April 20, 2009
Please remember to lock the doors on your car and don't set your personal belongings where someone can walk off with them. The trees are still mostly bare but Good News should have lots of blooms. They also have a great cafe and hot coffee. Those who show up will discuss the painting location for the following week. Hope to see you there. Bonnie
